Picking The Right Wedding Bouquet Is Not Easy

If there have ever been two things that go together perfect, it is flowers and wedding. There are cultures that don’t use wedding bells, ministers, wedding receptions, or toasts, but I have never come across a culture that doesn’t have wedding flowers. With all the wedding traditions out there, you would think that picking out flowers would be an easy thing. After all, flowers tend to have clear symbolism. Roses are for love, daisies are for springtime, etc. There are even languages of flowers in some cultures, where you can express any idea or emotion with a simple bouquet of flowers.

When I married my wife, we had some pretty unrealistic expectations for planning the wedding ceremony. We knew that it would be tough, and I agreed to give her final say over most of the decisions. Her opinion, after all, mattered more to her than mine did to me. I didn’t care as long as I was marrying this beautiful, perfect woman. Nonetheless, when we got to the wedding bouquet, everything broke down the first florist we went to had beautiful flowers, but they did not seem very fresh. His wedding bouquet arrangements were good, but even though he promised to get us the best, freshest flowers for the ceremony, we couldn’t believe him.

The second florist we went to was almost a keeper. Although he specialized in silk wedding bouquets, they were extremely realistic. As a matter of fact, you couldn’t tell them apart from real flowers. Best of all, they would last forever. We almost decided to go with him. After all, we are not the kind of couple that abides by tradition. If a beautiful wedding bouquet came in silk, why not get it in silk? Whoever caught it would be able to keep it as a keepsake forever. Nonetheless, we thought that some of our guests would object to not having fresh flowers in the wedding bouquet. In the end, we decided to go with s third florist. Not only was his work as good as the second florists, but he had a greater variety of flowers because he was using real, fresh ones. He helped us to pick out the perfect wedding arrangement.
